Kenji Miyazawa

(1896-1933)

Kenji Miyazawa was a Japanese poet and novelist who wrote many children’s publications; often focusing material on life morals.  Some of his more popular works include Night on the Galactic Railroad, Gauche the Cellist and Be Not Defeated by the Rain

If you are traveling in Japan and happen to be in Iwate prefecture, the Miyazawa Kenji Memorial museum in his hometown of Hanamaki is highly recommended.

The collection of products listed below are all by Japanese illustrator Shinzi Katoh — who honors Kenji Miyazawa’s legacy through his own interpretation.
