A collection of Aesop’s most famous fables is highlighted in this “Fairytale Series” by Japanese illustrator Shinzi Katoh.

Among them, The Cat and the Birds (a hungry cat wants to trick some birds by pretending to be a doctor); The Golden Axe (also known as The Honest Woodcutter, of a woodcutter who drops his axe in the river which is found by the god Mercury and tests his honesty); and The Goose that Laid the Golden Eggs (a farmers greed over the hen’s golden eggs).
