Backstory: Beyond just the popularity of the Karel Capek tea brand — I wanted to share a little more about owner and illustrator, Yamada Utako, and why it is that I chose her brand of tea to include as a thank you in each order since my shop began.

Since my shop is heavily inspired by Japanese illustrators who so often started their career in children’s artwork, many of Yamada Utako's children’s books has been a favorite collection in our home. This is my way of sharing her illustrations with you as well as a taste of Japanese tea flavors and culture.
