Paper Treats is thrilled to be the first U.S. shop to exclusively offer Nobarasha — a Japanese publishing company founded in 1929. Nobarasha has long been publishing books of songs, calligraphy and children's music instruction books. The company also prints traditional paper goods from the Showa era.
My knowledge of Nobarasha is through my mother, who loved music and art as a child. When she was in elementary school, she would show up at school before 7am just to sneak into the classroom to play the piano. The music book that was at the school was from Nobarasha and she would sing the songs from her childhood and reflect on her fondness of these books. So when I surprised her that I would be carrying the Nobarasha brand in my shop, she couldn't believe it.
I would sincerely like to thank Nobarasha for being so receptive of my little shop and opportunity to share nostalgic products from the Showa era with my customers.
